The Church
East Paris Baptist Church of Paris, TX is a church family that values biblical preaching, heartfelt worship, ministering to our community, and the advancement of the gospel above all. Established 84 years ago, we are members of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and have a strong and consistent reputation for Christian ministry and biblical teaching in Lamar County. We are also intentional to support local, national and global missions both financially and through mission trip involvement. Over the last 12 months, the average Sunday morning attendance has been 307, with 50
new members joining and 23 baptisms. While we currently have healthy student, children, and young family ministries with full-time ministers dedicated to these areas, our church is aging and desires a renewed focus on reaching younger adults and families. Our current pastor is retiring to spend more time with his family after a ministry career of over 40 years and faithfully leading our church for the last 7. EPBC consistently operates within budget and is on track to meet its $1.25M budget in 2026. There is no debt carried by the church, even after a sanctuary remodel and audio-visual update in 2025. In any given Sunday morning worship service, the majority of those in attendance will be 50 years of age and up. There are many unchurched young families in the community, and EPBC seeks to reach them with the
gospel of Christ and engage them in discipleship. Overall, EPBC is a warm and welcoming church family who is serious about the Great Commission and excited about what God will do through the leadership of our next Senior Pastor.

Current enrollment in Lamar County public school districts is over 8,500 students. Through local schools and

The Senior Pastor
The East Paris Baptist Church family is searching for a pastor who is committed to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible, has a heart for evangelism and discipleship, and will lead our church with both biblical truth and love. We desire a man who is energetic and dynamic in his delivery and firm in his
conviction. He should be easily approachable, a skilled relationship builder, and an effective leader of the ministerial and support staff. The pastor should affirm his agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and be committed to operating under EPBC’s membership and cooperation with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. His character and demeanor should advance, magnify and glorify the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our church desires a pastor who will passionately reach and disciple young families, helping them
put down roots in our congregation, while also shepherding our seniors with genuine love, respect, and attentive care. We seek a pastor who understands that culture does not change the Word of God, but who will encourage and lead change within the church that is needed to reach and engage people within the current culture. Our next pastor should lead in casting the vision for our church in the coming years and
then engage and equip the church to put that vision into practice. We desire a pastor who can connect with young adults and families, and models faithful leadership in the home and allows that to overflow into his leadership at church. We prayerfully seek the man God is calling to EPBC to lead us in the next chapter of our long history!
